We're all blessed to have Dr. Talley, Jr. returning to share God's Word at the CBC. He spoke in 1985, 1986, 1990, and 1992. Dr. John D. Talley, Jr. retired from full time ministry in July 2005, and he and his wife of 51 years, Dr. Bette, reside in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Talley, Jr. has extensive ministry experience including seven years of full-time pastoral experience, 30 years of pastoral interim ministry, and four years as an Army Chaplain during the Vietnam era including one year in Vietnam when he was highly decorated. Dr. John served in the area of Bible college education for 31 years teaching in three different institutions in the areas of Bible, Theology, and Pastoral Studies and served as President of Southeastern Bible College for eleven years. Dr. Talley, Jr. has a passion for working in multicultural environments and the Lord has blessed him with opportunities to do so. He purposefully accepted an opportunity to serve as the Chairman of Pastoral Ministries at Washington Bible College in the D.C. area because 50% of the students in his department were African-Americans, and he had numerous opportunities to minister in African American churches while in the D.C. area. He also served as the visiting pastor at a Chinese church. Since retirement, Dr. Talley, Jr. has been privileged to minister in numerous churches and serve as a Bible and Missionary conference speaker and teacher. His topic will be: "Praying Biblically: Discovering the priority prayer items in Scripture.” |
Dr. Cone (Th.D, Ph.D) will be a new-comer to the CBC. Dr. Cone seeks to glorify God in his life and ministry as a Bible student, doer, and educator.
